Mogale City’s Draft Budget (Part 9): The municipality’s obligations

Part 9 of simplifying the Mogale City Local Municipality’s (MCLM) recent Medium-Term Revenue and Expenditure Framework (MTREF), or the draft budget, looks at municipal obligations.

In the draft budget, it cites that the municipality has to comply with the Municipal Finance Act and related budget regulations, including the Municipal Structures and Municipal Systems Acts.

It further explains that the business risk implications are meeting financial obligations and meeting the municipal service delivery mandate.

It concluded that MCLM consulted numerous stakeholders, including the accounting officer, internal departments, the executive management committee, joint finance and corporate support services, the budget steering committee, the mayoral committee and council.
