Timeline for Mogale’s IDP and budget process revealed

Mogale’s budget, from the strategic planning to community input, will be finalised this month.

Part 11 of simplifying the Mogale City Local Municipality’s (MCLM) recent Medium-Term Revenue and Expenditure Framework (MTREF), or the draft budget, highlights the schedule that sets out the IDP and prepares the budget.

The documents cite, according to Section 21 of the Municipal Finance Management Act, that the mayor must present a timeline to the council 10 months before the new financial year begins.

This applicable timeline outlines how the municipality will update its IDP and prepare the budget.

This month, the strategic alignment phase included an IDP analysis report, prioritisation of the community inputs, the tabling of the annual IDP/ Budget/ Service Delivery and Budget Implementation Plan (SDBIP) and the submission of the approved IDP to the MEC of local government.
