My Meter App is not compulsory: What you need to know

Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) received numerous enquiries following a public notice issued recently regarding the submission of meter readings through the My Meter App.

MCLM communications officer Refilwe Mahlangu said using the app is not compulsory.

“The app is recommended for residents who have digital smart meters and customer interface units and who have access restrictions that prevent our meter readers from entering the property,” Mahlangu said.

“However, our meter readers may still need to verify these readings, especially during a transition period, or if the submitted reading seems inaccurate. If our meter readers have consistent and reliable access to your property and meter, there is no need to use the app,” she concluded.
