Submit your meter readings on time to avoid estimated bills, Mogale City warns

Mogale City residents with smart meters or restricted access must submit readings via the app to avoid estimated bills.

Residents with smart meters or locked gates that block meter readers must submit their water and electricity readings using the My Municipal Meter App. If no reading is submitted, consumption will be estimated, Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) warned.

According to MCLM communications officer, Refilwe Mahlangu, residents must take note that meter readers may still verify submitted readings during the transition period or if the reading appears inaccurate.

”If our meter readers have consistent and reliable access to your property and meter, there is no need to use the App,” Refilwe explains.

She also added that these are the following steps to submit your meter reading:

1. Download the app from Google Play Store, Apple App Store or the Huawei App Gallery
2. Register using your cell number or email address
3. Select ‘Mogale City’ as your service provider
4. Enter your municipal account number
5. Select the meter number, take a photo of your meter, enter the readings and submit

“To have your readings counted in the current billing cycle, please submit them on the same date each month, no later than the third week,” Mahlangu concluded.
