Farmers invited to help shape MCLM’s mechanisation plans

Farmers, agri-preneurs and agricultural experts are invited to a public engagement session in Hekpoort on August 21 to provide input on MCLM’s draft mechanisation support policy.

Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) will be hosting a mechanisation support policy engagement session later this week.

MCLM communications officer Refilwe Mahlangu explained that mechanisation is a game-changer which boosts productivity, cuts down labour time and makes farming smarter.

She added that without a clear policy to guide support programmes, challenges keep cropping up.

“MCLM is developing this policy and needs voices from the ground, particularly farmers, agri-preneurs and experts. Join us for a crucial engagement session to refine the draft policy,” she said.

This session will take place from 10:00 on August 21 in the Hekpoort Hall.

If residents want to read the draft policy, they can find it on MCLM’s website.

“Together we are shaping a better future for farming in our city,” Mahlangu concluded.
