New fleet to boost Mogale City’s safety
MCLM invests in new vehicles to strengthen law enforcement and emergency response.
Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) has unveiled a new fleet of vehicles for its Public Safety.
The unveiling took place during the Safer City, Arrive Alive event launch on December 5, outside the Krugersdorp Game Reserve.
The municipality introduced new by-law enforcement trucks and Disaster Management vans, with Mayor Lucky Sele highlighting the enhanced capabilities of the fleet.
“These new vehicles make the town safer and increase visibility. While the previous cars, nicknamed ‘Ubers,’ were effective, these new vehicles will respond even faster to incidents,” Sele explained.
The by-law enforcement trucks will target illegal taverns and dumping, addressing littering and other by-law violations. The Disaster Management vans will respond to emergencies such as floods and fires.
“We can now reach emergencies quickly, which is essential. We have the tools to work effectively and enhance safety. This was a major investment, and we hope to double revenue from fines,” Sele concluded.
