New forums launch to boost business and SMME growth in Mogale City

Mogale City is calling on residents and business leaders to help shape the city’s economic future through three new development forums.

Mogale City Local Municipality is calling on residents, business leaders and community representatives to play an active role in shaping the city’s economic future through three newly established economic development forums.

These forums are designed to strengthen collaboration, foster investment, and create opportunities for inclusive growth across the municipality.

According to Mogale’s assistant manager for media and PR, Refilwe Mahlangu, the municipality invites the public to nominate suitable individuals to serve on the following forums:

• Mogale City Business Forum

This forum will provide a platform for private-sector engagement, promote partnerships between local businesses and the municipality, support entrepreneurship, and advise on policies that drive sustainable economic growth within Mogale City.

• SMME Development Forum

The SMME Development Forum will support small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMMEs) by providing access to development programmes, networking opportunities, and a structured platform to engage with the municipality.

• Magaliesberg Economic Development Forum (MEDF)

The MEDF will bring together businesses, industry professionals, and stakeholders to share insights, test innovative ideas, and develop practical solutions for regional economic challenges, promoting inclusive and sustainable growth.

Who can nominate:

• Individuals representing registered businesses, SMMEs, cooperatives, associations or industry networks
• Those with experience, leadership and commitment to local economic development
• Individuals willing to actively participate and contribute to the forums’ objectives

How to nominate:

Visit Mogale City’s official website, click on the forum you wish to nominate for, and complete the online nomination form. Nominations close on February 6.

“The creation of these forums underscores Mogale City’s commitment to building a thriving, inclusive economy. The municipality encourages all qualified and passionate individuals to participate and help shape the city’s economic future,” added Mahlangu.
