Water supply to be disrupted across suburbs

Residents in parts of Mogale City are urged to store water ahead of a planned 52-hour shutdown affecting Kagiso, Azaadville, Swanneville and more.

The Eikenhof supply system will undergo maintenance by Rand Water between January 6 and 7.

This is expected to leave residents in several areas without water for about 52 hours.

According to Mogale City Local Municipality’s communications manager Adrian Amod, the following suburbs will be affected:

• Azaadville
• Rietvallei 2 and 3
• Swanneville
• Kagiso Ext 12 and 13
• Greater Kagiso
• Chief Mogale

Mitigation measures include maximising reservoirs before the shutdown, reducing water outflow to extend supply, and having additional water tankers on standby.

“Residents should store enough water in advance, as low water pressure may be experienced. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your co-operation,” Amod said.
