Eight-hour water interruption expected after burst pipe

Water supply has been temporarily shut off in three Mogale suburbs after a pipe burst, with repairs expected to take up to eight hours.

Rand Water has temporarily isolated the water supply to Mindalore, Chamdor and parts of Kagiso Ext 1 following a burst pipe.

The isolation is necessary to prevent further water loss and to allow repair teams to work safely.

According to the Mogale City Local Municipality’s communications officer, Refilwe Mahlangu, repair work is expected to take approximately eight hours.

Affected residents are advised to contact their ward councillors should water tankers be required. Councillors will relay these requests to the Water Services team, which will coordinate the deployment of tankers to assist affected areas.
