Planned water shutdown to affect several areas

Parts of Krugersdorp will experience a planned water shutdown next week due to urgent municipal repair work.

Residents and businesses in parts of Krugersdorp can expect a full-day water interruption on Wednesday, February 11, as Mogale City Local Municipality undertakes urgent repairs to a major water leak.

The planned shutdown will affect Featherbrook Estate, Ruimsig Country Estate and the Silverstar area from 09:00 to 18:00. According to Mogale’s assistant manager for media and public relations, Refilwe Mahlangu, repair teams will be working at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Garden, where a significant leak was identified.

Mahlangu warned that the full extent of the damage will only be known once work is underway, meaning the estimated restoration time could be extended.

“We apologise for the inconvenience and thank residents for their patience and understanding,” she said.
