Understanding who supplies your electricity in Krugersdorp
Residents are urged to identify their electricity provider to ensure faults are reported to the correct service provider and resolved as quickly as possible.
Residents experiencing power outages are encouraged to first determine whether their area is supplied by Eskom or the Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) before reporting faults.
According to the MCLM assistant manager for media and public relations, Refilwe Mahlangu, not all areas within the municipality receive electricity from Mogale City, with several areas supplied directly by Eskom.
“When experiencing a power outage, you need to contact the correct service provider for faster assistance,” she said.
The following areas are supplied by Eskom:
• Kagiso
• Rietvallei
• Swaneville Ext 2 and 3
• Magaliesburg
• Tarlton
• Kromdraai
• Muldersdrift
Mahlangu stressed that residents in Eskom-supplied areas should report electricity-related issues directly to Eskom, as MCLM is unable to resolve outages in those areas.
Electricity faults can be reported to Eskom on 08600 37566.
Residents supplied by MCLM can report outages via the municipality’s WhatsApp line on 083 787 2814 or the customer care line on 086 166 4253.
“Knowing who supplies your electricity helps ensure that faults are reported to the correct service provider and attended to as quickly as possible,” Mahlangu concluded.
