Mogale libraries cut operating hours

Residents are advised that several libraries in Mogale City will no longer offer extended weekday hours or Saturday services, effective today, July 1.

Mogale City Local Municipality’s head of communications Adrian Amod confirmed in a statement that the Library Services Department informed the public that the adjustment forms part of measures to manage overtime costs.

The affected libraries are:

• Krugersdorp
• Desmond Tutu
• Kagiso
• Magaliesburg

Amod said all municipal libraries will operate Monday to Friday from 08:30 until 16:00 and will be closed on weekends and public holidays.

The municipality apologised for any inconvenience caused and thanked the public for their understanding and cooperation.
