Johan Jonker Drive to close for three days due to school street event

The temporary closure will allow a school street event to take place, with motorists urged to use alternative routes.

Motorists are advised to use alternative routes if they plan to travel along Johan Jonker Drive between July 2 and 4, as the road will be temporarily closed.

According to Alderwoman Jaqueline Pannall, the closure will affect Johan Jonker Drive from Saner Street in Wentworth Park to the intersection of Paul Kruger Drive and Gerrit Maritz Street in Monument.

“This will be due to a school street event taking place on this road, and we encourage motorists to plan and make use of alternative routes,” she concluded.
