Rene Groenewald, the mother of one of the passengers in the blue Golf expressed her gratitude toward those who assisted the victims.

I am one of the moms whose son was in an accident on Robert Broom Saturday night. We want to thank everyone who has contacted us, everyone who helped put out the flames, every emergency worker that helped to cut them out. Every person who sent messages. We can’t get to everyone but want to express our gratitude.

The boys need operations and have serious injuries. They are both 21 and were innocent victims of unnecessary reckless driving. But we are thankful for our Heavenly Father who protected them. We need your prayers and will update with time,” she wrote on Facebook.
