Eikenhof failure disrupts Mogale water supply

Water pumping to parts of Mogale City has been disrupted following a power outage at the Eikenhof Booster Station, with Kagiso and Azaadville among the worst affected.

Residents are being informed of a disruption to water pumping in Mogale City following a complete power outage at the Eikenhof Booster Station yesterday, August 23.

Mogale City Local Municipality’s (MCLM) Water Services confirmed in a statement that Kagiso and Azaadville are the most affected areas, with the Kagiso Reservoir currently empty.

The municipality said water tankers are being dispatched to Kagiso in coordination with the relevant ward councillors.

Reservoir levels in the affected areas are:

• Kagiso: 1%
• Kagiso Tower: 3%
• Kagiso Ext 13: 3%
• Azaadville: 23%

Residents who still have water are urged to use it sparingly. MCLM said it is monitoring the situation and will provide further updates as more information becomes available.

The municipality apologised for the inconvenience and thanked residents for their patience and cooperation.
