Stopping crime starts at a young age

A number of social issues were addressed including bullying, theft, juvenile delinquency and immorality.

The Kagiso police recently visited two schools to talk about the dangers of crime.

They visited the Mphe-Thuto Primary school as well as the Magalies State school.

Kagiso Police spokesperson Captain Solomon Sibiya said that crime must be squeezed and brought to it’s knees even as early as at Primary school.

The West Rand District Social Crime Prevention Unit and communications officers collaborated with various stakeholders and partners including the department of Community Safety, the Gender Based Violence brigades, Rand West City Local Municipality, the Victim Empowerment centre and department of Social development.

The teams visited two schools on August 3 and addressed a number of social issues including bullying, theft, juvenile delinquency and immorality.
