Krugersdorp resident crowned Miss Hooters Swimsuit SA

Krugersdorp resident Lehandrie Burger was crowned Miss Hooters Swimsuit SA 2022 while her sister, Marilie Burger was named second princess.

Marilie represented Hooters Ruimsig and Lehandrie was the Hooters Willow Crossing representative. The crowning was done at Hooters Emperors Palace on Saturday evening, September 17.

Lehandrie, who is studying a BSc in medicine specialising in Physiology and Pharmacology at Tuks, will travel to the USA later this year to compete in the International Miss Hooters Swimsuit pageant and hope to be crowned Miss Hooters World.

Ruimsig Hooters said they were proud to announce that they have two of the brand’s brightest women at their establishment. Marilie and Jessica Olehile participated in the Miss Hooters Swimsuit SA 2022 pageant.

The West Randers entered the pageant as a way to promote their health and fitness lifestyles.

Marilie is a Psychology student at the University of Pretoria while Jessica has taken a break from the academics, spending much of her spare time in the gym.

After being chosen as a finalist, preparations for the big day left both Marilie and Jessica drained. With the event upon them, a rehearsal was followed by the hair and make-up session before the preliminary round. Dressed in the iconic uniform, each contestant had to pitch themselves before an evening-wear section which included a few testing questions. Finally, the grand finale swimsuit section.

Neither expected to be called up, with Marilie admitting, “All of the girls were beautiful and looked amazing so we didn’t expect to place. We are just so beyond grateful for this opportunity they have given us. They gave us a platform to speak about what we love. There are so many eyes on us now it is crazy, our Instagram following just skyrocketed after the pageant,” laughed the two 22-year-olds.
