Thief caught in the act after targeting Wentworth Park home, owner drops charges

Mapogo A Mathamaga Security released its latest crime report in Mogale City that included two business break-ins and two housebreakings and theft.

A thief stole a steel pipe at a home in Wentworth Park, attempted to flee the scene and was arrested in one of six serious incidents reported to Mapogo A Mathamaga Security in Mogale City for the period Monday, October 24 to Sunday, October 30.

The security company’s operations manager Ben Willemse explained the incident took place at 06:05 last Monday, October 24.

“A perpetrator gained entry onto the premises and stole a steel pipe. He attempted to flee the scene but was arrested. The owner, however, did not want to lay charges against the perpetrator,” confirmed Willemse.

Details about other incidents:

1. Monday, October 24 at 02:40 – Business break-in in Commissioner Street, Krugersdorp Central:

A perpetrator broke the front window of the shop and stole safety equipment and safety shoes from the business and fled the scene.

2. Monday, October 24 at 08:34 – Business break-in in Monument Street, Krugersdorp Central:

Perpetrators broke the locks of the roller doors during the evening and then broke the window of the business and stole clothing and shoes and fled the scene.

3. Thursday, October 27 at 09:22 – Theft in Buiten Street, Krugersdorp North:

A perpetrator climbed over the perimeter fence and stole one battery from the premises and fled the scene.

4. Friday, October 28 at 11:49 – Housebreaking and theft in Pienaar Street, Dan Pienaarville:

Perpetrators lifted the gate from its rail and proceeded to force the door open and stole two televisions from the premises and fled the scene.

5. Friday, October 28 at 23:53 – Housebreaking and theft in Trump Street, Beckedan, Tarlton:

Perpetrators forced open the security gate and sliding door and stole a flat screen television and hi-fi and fled the scene.
