Foreign man gets teen, 14, pregnant: Charged with statutory rape
A man and foreign national has been charged with sexual assault and statutory rape after sexually engaging with a 14-year-old girl.
Kagiso Police recently arrested a 25-year-old man and foreign national who now faces charges of statutory rape among others after getting a teen pregnant.
Kagiso Police spokesperson Captain Solomon Sibiya explained the foreign national from a country in South-Asia was arrested for sexually engaging with a 14-year-old girl from Kagiso Extension 1.
“According to the victim’s mother, the 14-year-old stays with her grandmother. The victim told her mother that her grandmother had sent her to buy something at a spaza shop in September. The victim alleged that before leaving the shop, the suspect asked her to come back again. She indeed came back and that is when the suspect took her to the back of the shop and slept with her.”
When the victim’s mother realised that she was showing some strange behaviour she investigated. She realised that her daughter was pregnant and lodged a complaint with the Kagiso Police who arrested the suspect at his shop.
The man briefly appeared in the Kagiso Magistrate’s Court and was remanded in custody.
