Cops give serious talk at Pro-Practicum
Local police and various other stakeholders held a serious talk, with teenage pregnancy being one of the topics, at Pro-Practicum LSEN School recently.
The Krugersdorp Police and several other stakeholders recently visited Pro-Practicum LSEN School in Krugersdorp West to address many social ills and encouraged learners to abstain from sexual interactions.
According to Krugersdorp Police Spokesperson Captain Raymond Sebonyane, about 120 Grade 3 learners were addressed.
The stakeholders involved included the police’s social crime prevention co-ordinators, Department of Community Safety, Victim Empowerment Center Coordinator from Krugersdorp Police, a victim empowerment center’s auxiliary social worker as well as victim supporters.
“Topics discussed ranged from sexual offences, teenage pregnancy, human trafficking, bullying, fighting, stealing and substance abuse which included the danger of drugs and alcohol abuse.
“Learners were further encouraged to report any criminal activity immediately to the Krugersdorp Police on 011 951 1151 or to contact Crime Stop Line on 08600 10111 or information may be communicated via MySAPS App or to utilise SMS number 32211 and remain anonymous.”
