Many attempted break-ins across the city – Mapogo crime report
Mapgo's crime report this week shows that they responded to three attempted break-in's and one break-in in three days, this among other crimes.
Mapogo Security had to tend to six incidences in three days, many of which was attempted house break-ins.
On Thursday, November 10 there were three incidents. At 02:26 there was an attempted house break-in on a plot in Vlakplaats; the perpetrators had cut an electric fence and forced open a safety gate. A guard noticed it and made alarm which caused the perpetrators to flee the scene.
Then at 13:32 a gate motor was also stolen from a Vlakplaats plot. The offenders had lifted the gate from its rail and stole two gate motors before fleeing the scene.
Lastly at 21:02 there was a theft in Bodenstein Street in Krugersdorp North. The wrongdoer gained entry onto the premises by climbing over the perimeter fence before stealing garden tools and fleeing.
On Friday, November 11 at 21:02 they responded to another attempted house break-in – this time at De Wet Street in Krugersdorp North. The culprits cut the electric fence and forced open a sliding door but the alarm was activated and they fled the scene.
There was another attempted break-in at Cecil Knight Street in Rant-en-Dal on Saturday, November 12 at 04:43. The perpetrators had come on to the premises and broken a window before forcing open the burglar bars but the domestic helper made alarm and the perpetrators fled.
The criminals who tried their luck on Sunday, November 13 had been successful and had entered a house in Level Street, Wentworth park while the owner was asleep. They had opened a window to gain entry and took money and small items from a handbag before fleeing the scene. Fortunately they did not harm or wake the owner.
