In August 2022 we had a major water crisis in Krugersdorp. At that time, a lot of excuses and reasons were bandied about, including, but not exclusively the fault of load-shedding. After some time, water feed was restored, or at least partially.

In Noordheuwel, we still have a problem with the water supply. At best, a 3-minute shower, before the water runs out. Fill a kettle, and you have to wait at least 30 minutes before you can run enough water to do the dishes. Flush a toilet, well, your not having a shower soon. As for doing laundry, a 19-minute wash takes up to 80 minutes, due to the water feeding in so slowly.

So, before you rest on your laurels, and think this problem has been resolved, get back out there, and find out why we are not getting water.

The News approached Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) who acknowledged the query but is yet to provide clarity at the time of print. Their response will be printed once received — Ed.
