A cyclist had to be airlifted after a collision with a motor vehicle in Muldersdrift this morning.

A cyclist had to be airlifted after a collision with a motor vehicle in Muldersdrift on Thursday morning, January 26.

According to a statement from Emer-G-Med, their paramedics and other emergency services responded to a serious collision where a light motor vehicle had collided with a cyclist on the R374.

“On arrival on scene, an elderly male cyclist was found in a critical condition. Emergency Care Practitioners worked fervently to stabilise him before a decision was made to airlift him with the assistance of the Netcare 911 aeromedical helicopter to a specialist facility for the definitive care that he required.”

The report also said that the occupants of the vehicle were not injured in the incident.
