Dr Yusuf Dadoo Hospital staff celebrated the month of love by creating awareness and promoting a healthy lifestyle to their community and staff.
“The aim was to curb new infections and encourage condom usage to prevent sexually transmitted diseases that can cause harm if not prevented or treated properly,” explained Dipuo Ntshingila, Assistant Director, Nursing.

Vuyo Seralarala spoke about the different STDs, their causes, the dangers they pose, and how they can be prevented.
“We need to speak up when we have a problem because there are resources and programmes available to assist at the hospital,” she said.
Pediatric specialist Dr Moundzika explained that there are factors that can lead to an early death, these can even be social factors at home.

He encouraged attendees to keep in mind that everyone is different and asked them to be patient with those who think differently than them.
“If one’s mind is at peace then there is a chance that the body may resist other sexual infectious diseases.”
Puseletso Mabidikame said afterward they played some physical and mind games for team building and to ensure that the attendees had received the message. They even stood a chance to win some prizes.
