Serial house burglar finally arrested

A man who could be linked to more than one house break-in has been arrested.

A 23-year-old man will be appearing in the Krugersdorp Magistrate’s Court for two different cases of housebreaking and theft.

Krugersdorp Police spokesperson Captain Raymond Sebonyane explained that the first case happened in Pango Camp in Munsieville between 18:30 and 19:10 on Christmas day last year.

“The complainant left his place and went shopping. All doors were locked and windows properly closed.”

When he came back, however, he found the lock on the door had been cut and a cellphone, cash, and jacket were stolen. He then went to the Krugersdorp police and a case was opened.

Then on January 12 this year, another break-in was reported, this time in Morare Drive (also in Munsieville) between 07:30 and 09:30. The complainant said she left her house and everything was in order when she left to attend a school meeting. When she got home later she found cash and groceries had been stolen.

“Upon investigation, she found that her shack was opened at the back. A case of housebreaking and theft was opened and registered at Krugersdorp police.”

Both these cases were investigated by Sergeant Samuel Maenetja and his intense investigation led to the suspect’s arrest.
