Family member jailed for assaulting his nephew

A man who assaulted his nephew and stabbed him has been sent to prison.

Wandile Fisher was recently sentenced to three years imprisonment without the option of a fine after he was found guilty of assaulting his 16-year-old nephew.

Krugersdorp Police Captain Raymond Sebonyane said the 21-year-old man from Munsieville was sentenced in the Krugersdorp Magistrate’s Court following the incident that took place on January 15 in Pilane Street, Munsieville.

He explained that at about 08:00 the victim brought his friend home, Fisher then told his nephew’s friend that he was not welcome in the yard. The 16-year-old went to his room and Fisher followed him and assaulted him. He also stabbed the 16-year-old in the hand.

“The police were called and a case was opened and registered at Krugersdorp Police Station.”

Detective Sergeant Trevor Nhlapo investigated the case and made sure that the state got a conviction.

The Krugersdorp Police Station Commander Brigadier Happy Xaba commended the detective for his hard work.
