Emer-G-Med spokesperson Kyle van Reenen said first responders arrived on the scene near a popular nursery and garden centre and found a woman in her 20s in critical condition.

Emergency Care Practitioners worked fervently to stabilise the pedestrian.

“A decision was then made to airlift her with the assistance of the Netcare911 aeromedical helicopter through to a specialist facility for the required definitive care.”

Emergency services are pleading with the public to drive safely on the road especially since winter time has begun.
