Annual Pet Expo, what a treat!
Owners and their four-legged friends from all over Johannesburg descended on Montecasino for this year's Pet Expo.
Animal lovers from far and wide were able to converge and share their tales of wagging tails and feline friends at the annual Pet Expo hosted at Montecasino.
The event hosted a variety of different cat and dog breeds – they even had a few leopard geckos, snakes, koi fish and birds! Pet owners were able to browse through stalls upon stalls of pet products like comfortable pet beds, chews, and health products while greeting a four-legged passerby every now and again.

Dogs of all shapes and sizes were led by their owners through the maze of tents, being reminded of how good of a boy, or girl, they were by attendees – often accompanied by an ear scratch or pat of the head.

Paws for People, as well as the South African Guide-Dog Association, attended the event. Pups in training eagerly sat next to their puppy raiser as guests politely asked to greet them, while therapy dogs made the first move and greeted anyone walking past with a cheerful tail wag and lick on the hand.

Brainy Birds, a non-profit bird sanctuary, brought some of their resident birds to interact and help educate attendees on the proper care and plight of parrots in South Africa.

Finally, breeders were able to compete in a variety of pet shows including a fun and exciting agility course.
