New Kagiso Police Station commander meets her community

The community of Kagiso had the opportunity to ask questions and give suggestions on crime in their area.

It has been proven that when the local police and community work together, there is an increase in crime prevention. The new station commander for Kagiso Police recently introduced herself to her community.

Captain Solomon Sibiya said in a statement that the West Rand District Police Commissioner, Major General Fred Kekana, led an operation on July 27 and this was followed by an imbizo and community engagement. During this meeting, Brigadier Nyelisani Merlyn Mabatha was introduced as Kagiso’s new station commander.

They addressed residents where they also sought clarification on crime matters in their area and also discussed the well-being issues of residents. Kekana responded to questions raised and Sibiya said that he also took note of suggestions raised by individual community members.
