Curro Krugersdorp Primary School entertained its learners with eccentric and lively characters on stage during children's theatre production.
Curro Krugersdorp Primary School treated their learners to an unforgettable theatrical experience in late July with a heart-warming performance called ‘Pumpkin Finds Her Kindness – The Play’.
Inspired by the beloved children’s book series, this captivating play revolves around the endearing character of little Pumpkin, who grapples with feelings of jealousy and envy after a tough competition loss. Determined to conquer her inner turmoil, Pumpkin embarks on an exhilarating adventure, guided by the wisdom of her Ouma and accompanied by her loyal feline friend, Toots the cat.

From the moment the curtains rose, the stage came alive with vibrant characters and imaginative sets, immersing the audience into Pumpkin’s world of self-discovery. The play skillfully combines moments of laughter, heart-warming interactions, and a touch of magic, as Pumpkin discovers that kindness resides within her and holds the power to transform her surroundings.
The production stars the exceptionally talented Bianca Flanders, known for her remarkable performances in Troukoors and District 6 The Musical, alongside Dean Balie, renowned for his captivating roles in Nêrens Noordkaap and Kat and the Kings. Together, Flanders and Balie bring to life the beloved characters of the play, leaving the audience mesmerised and enchanted. Their performance ensured an unforgettable experience for all children in attendance.

Director Nico Scheepers skillfully weaves together elements of puppetry, music, and storytelling to create a visually stunning and engaging theatrical spectacle that captivates young hearts and minds.
