Planned 8-hour water shutdown to hit CBD

The shutdown will be done to inspect a burst pipe.

Residents and businesses in the Krugersdorp CBD are urged to provisionally prepare themselves as there will be an eight-hour water shutdown tomorrow.

The Mogale City Water Services warned that a planned water shutdown will take place on August 15 to inspect and work on a 255mm diameter burst pipe that occurred at Coronation Dam.

The repair work is scheduled from 09:00 until 17:00 and will last about eight hours.

Although they do not anticipate this shutdown to affect supply to the CBD since reservoirs will be filled up, Water Services appeals to residents to use water sparingly and restrict consumption for household use to avoid possible supply interruptions on the day. This means that no irrigation of lawns, car washing, filling swimming pools, or washing down pavement areas while work is underway.

Water Services apologises in advance for the inconvenience that this shutdown may cause to residents and businesses in the area.
