There was some dancing and feasting at the Featherbrooke Hills Retirement Village which recently celebrated its 10th anniversary.

Residents of the Featherbrooke Hills Retirement Village were all full of joy and had a blast during the institution’s 10th-anniversary celebrations held on August 12.

The village opened its doors to attendees on what would be an amazing day of food, drinks, dancing, smiles, and reflection on how far the village has come. Many visitors were also able to quench their thirst with delicious cocktails while feasting on delicious food from freshly made Portuguese Prego rolls to mouthwatering hamburgers. Regarding entertainment, there were lots of games followed by prizes and even a dance floor.

The retirement village also took the time to celebrate all the proud initiatives and charitable efforts they have been involved in over the years which included reaching out to communities and assisting non-profit organisations. The retirement village also works with various other organisations such as the Teddy Bear Clinic and The Cradle of Hope.

This year they took part in an exciting 30-hour crochet marathon where members knitted blocks for blankets that would be donated to the Maak ‘n Verskil organisation. Most of the blankets they made were mainly for less fortunate children, those who come from broken homes, victims of abuse and orphans.

The village also had various stalls where many people could collect some gifts to take home, after what was a memorable afternoon at Muldersdrift.
