Avianto School hosts inter-house athletics fun

More than 100 learners took part in Avianto Estate Private School's inter-house Cross Country Race recently.

Avianto Estate Private School was a place full of life and fun during the school’s inter-house Cross Country Race held at the end of August.

The race saw more than 100 learners from grades 1–7 participating and competing for bragging rights. The teams were the Swallows, the Bishops and the Weavers. The race covered a large distance starting at the school playgrounds to the school foyer and finishing at the playgrounds again.

The Swallows had the most finishers which earned them first place while the Bishops came second followed by the Weavers in third.

“It was a fun afternoon with many parents, staff and learners enjoying the fun,” said the school’s head of marketing Mandy van der Walt.

“A big congratulations to all the children who took part. The school is very proud of the effort that everyone put in and all athletes were acknowledged for their accomplishments during assembly,” Van der Walt said.
