Windsor Road has reopened to motorists
After months of maintenance work, residents can finally use Windsor Road again.
Following months of maintenance work and unforeseen delays, Mogale City’s Infrastructure and Development Services is pleased to inform motorists that Windsor Road is officially open for traffic.
According to Mogale City Local Municipality (MCLM) communications officer Refilwe Mahlangu, there are still some minor adjustments to be made on the road to ensure that it will be fully maintained, however, it won’t affect road users majorly.
“Although minor work such as road markings are still being carried out, both roads are accessible with no obstruction of traffic,” Mahlangu confirmed.

The road closure formed part of the city’s Roads, Rehabilitation and Resurfacing Project done in partnership with the national government to improve the condition of the main access road into the CBD. Windsor Road on the other hand had been damaged by layer collapses as a result of illegal mining activity taking place.
Mahlangu added that the municipality appreciates the patience of the residents as the maintenance work took place.
“The municipality would like to thank affected residents for their patience and co-operation. While it was disruptive, the project has helped improve the road conditions and access to businesses for residents and visitors.”
