Local businesswoman helps elevate small businesses
Roodepoort-based businesswoman helps out fellow small business owners.
Christina Di Stefano (34) started as a florist who does floral designs for special occasions but noticed that there are quite a few small businesses in the area that she could uplift by selling their handcrafted items at markets along with her flowers.
“I source many different handmade items from various small businesses around SA and while my clients support me they are also supporting those small business owners,” she explained.
She explained that this is a passion of hers and that she has a full-time job as well. How does she choose which business to support?
“The items are all what I like and what I’ve chosen myself, I’m a one-woman show right now; it’s a mixture of items from 20–30 different businesses/ individuals and changes monthly as I like to keep it fresh and always change up my variety of what I offer,” she responded.
Christina explained that for a lot of vendors, the markets are their bread and butter so she likes to do her part in boosting small business sales in SA, ‘not everyone has a full-time job so I will continue to support where I can while I’m in a position to do so’.
Marketgoers can find Christina at any local market in the West Rand area.
