Making Mogale proud as a rapper

Tankiso Tlholoe, a rapper from Krugersdorp West, is another talented artist making Mogale proud.

Another musical artist from Krugersdorp is reaching for the stars.

Tankiso Tlholoe is a talented hip-hop and Amapiano artist who hails from Krugersdorp West. He was born in Kagiso.

Mostly known by his stage name, Cheeze Bee, Tankiso started to perform at a very young age and fell in love with music when he was just in grade eight in 2018. He then met Gift Masenya, who was also a rapper and producer in the same school. After school, the pair used to spend time with each other recording music.

In 2019, Tankiso recorded his first album, Life Before Fame. The album is a retrospective of how his life was before finding huge success.

The very same year he released a mixtape called Omolemo which is named after his nephew and he dedicated the project as a birthday present to him. Cheeze Bee hopes to deliver good music that will not only inspire many youth on the West Rand but also send a strong message to others with similar interests.

“My music is universal, it is for everyone. I like to be versatile in my message by rapping in multiple languages but I do mostly rap in English and Setswana,” Tankiso said.

His most recent milestone was being nominated at the Mogale Music Awards last month where he walked away with the Best Hip Hop Artist and Best Hip Hop Song awards.

Tankiso has also featured as an actor in the popular local telenovela Rhythm City on e.tv and made several other appearances in other popular television shows such as Gomora, Smoke and Mirrors, and My Brother’s Keeper on DStv’s Mzansi Magic channel.

Tankiso is currently working on another project which he hopes can be released later this year and hopes that his music will reach a wider audience to motivate and inspire young up-and-coming artists such as himself.
