Flour everywhere after truck overturns on R28

Flour is strewn all over the R28 towards Pinehaven after a truck driver lost control and crashed.

Traffic is heavily disrupted on the R28 towards Pretoria after a large truck transporting flour crashed and lost its load late on Friday morning, April 5.

According to Krugersdorp News journalist Heinrich Greyling, who arrived on the scene, flour could be seen scattered everywhere along the R28.

“Traffic is heavily backed up and motorists are requested to use alternative routes. However, some lanes are open to traffic. Paramedics on the scene confirmed the truck driver was injured but the extent of his injuries is unknown at this stage. No other injuries were reported at this time either,” he said.

Flour can be seen everywhere.

According to Hannes Mulder of National Protection Services, the truck driver lost control for at least 240m before crashing.

Another emergency management services official Morne van Heerden said the R28 towards the Pinehaven intersection and from Krugersdorp is a major problem, specifically because of trucks.

For extra safety, some power lines have also been switched off.
