Krugersdorp Golf Club recently hosted a Donkey Derby to raise funds for community projects.

The Rotary Club of Krugersdorp in partnership with the Friends of Emergency Services recently hosted a thrilling Donkey Derby event, better known as the Dorpse July at the Krugersdorp Golf Club.

The highly anticipated fundraiser drew a large and enthusiastic crowd, all gathered to support a great cause.

The Dorpse July event offered many fun-filled activities, including the main attraction, the Donkey Derby races. For a mere R50 per person, attendees could enjoy the excitement of the races, as well as book a table for eight people. The event aimed to raise funds for various community projects, including community clean-ups, frail care outreach programmes, and supporting the less fortunate.

The evening was filled with excitement, nerves, and stress as participants and spectators alike cheered on their favourite ‘donkeys’. The event culminated in a ‘crazy, wacky wonderful night’ with great fun had by all. The organisers extended their heartfelt gratitude to their dedicated team, services, and patrons for making the event a resounding success.

Many took part in the fun at the Dorpse July.

The Rotary Club of Krugersdorp and the Friends of Emergency Services are committed to making a positive impact in the community. With events like the Donkey Derby, they can raise funds and make a difference in the lives of Krugersdorp residents.
