Donations galore to the needy thanks to charity-hungry bikers

Soldiers for Jesus Motorbike Club, supported by other bikers, collected blankets and money for charity.

The Soldiers for Jesus Motorbike Club organised a blanket run to distribute blankets to people in need.

This blanket run took place at the West Rand Bikers Church on Saturday, May 11.

According to the president of the motorbike club, Graham Cusack, this was the 12th year they hosted the blanket run.

“There were more than 30 beneficiaries including the Salvation Army and the goal was to give back. The club wants to make a difference in the community,” Graham said.

James Dreyden, Craig Heuvel and Leander Bosman donated blankets.

In total, 62 biker clubs took part in the run with about 200 people who made donations during the day. There were also 147 blankets donated, on top of that, around R9 000 was donated to buy more blankets.

“People do not realise what difference something as basic as a blanket can make in someone’s life. There is a massive need for blankets in the community and we try to supply that need,” Graham added.
