Unashamed, an initiative launched by a group of caring volunteers in Krugersdorp, provided a plate of food to the disadvantaged community living at the infamous tennis courts informal settlement in Krugersdorp West recently and ensured that no one would be forgotten or left behind.

According to volunteer and organiser of the initiative, Elrine Theunissen, the food that was provided to the homeless was home-cooked and sponsored by good Samaritans in the community.

“People made donations at Chugg and Chill Pub and Sports Bar, and we appreciate everybody who helped to make this possible.

Over 50 people made their way to collect and enjoy freshly made and warm food at the tennis courts.”

She also added that the initiative reaches out to other parts of town, such as the Tower of Life Shelter and the Harlequins tent camp.

The initiative also saw volunteers assist with feeding people on the day. If you are interested in assisting them in their charitable efforts, be sure to contact Elrine on 060 670 6560.
