The organisation was nominated by Dis-Chem to receive blankets this year, and on 14 May, Janine Masters met with Dis-Chem manager Schalk Loots to accept the donation.

Dis-Chem frequently emphasises the warmth and comfort those most vulnerable need. Additionally, they highlight the value of teamwork and the generosity of giving, demonstrating the resilience of community support and the satisfaction of changing the world.

The blanket drive is hosted every year, and the founder and CEO of the Cradle of Hope, Melodie van Brakel, mentioned how the donation had an impact on their organisation.

“Donated blankets provide warmth and comfort to less fortunate adults and children, protecting them from the cold weather.

It serves as a simple yet powerful gesture of care, helping them feel valued and supported during challenging times,” said Melodie.

“We are truly grateful for the generous donation, which makes a difference in the lives of those we serve. This support inspires us to continue our mission, and we look forward to the possibility of collaborating with businesses in our community to bring positive change to our Community,” she said.
