Tower of Life warns of donation scam email

Tower of Life (TOL), a men’s shelter and registered NPO, were recently made aware that their name is being used to collect funds, which is not official.

The centre manager at TOL, Janet Jordaan, said an email going around is asking for donations or services for one of their residents to go to a soccer match.

Please be aware that this email has not been sanctioned by Tower of Life Shelter in Krugersdorp, and we are not collecting any finances for soccer matches,” she addressed.

She stated this person has not been authorised to collect funds on behalf of the organisation, even though he is a known beneficiary of them, but not an employee.

“TOL has a very specific collection policy regarding who is allowed to collect on our behalf.”
