WATCH: Kagiso hip-hop duo Bad Boyz Fly go viral with Njabulo dance challenge and launch West Records label
Award-winning artists and entrepreneurs known as Bad Boyz Fly are making waves with their hit single and viral TikTok sensation, while building a platform for creatives through their new label, West Records.
The dynamic hip-hop duo Bad Boyz Fly was founded by two award-winning artists, businessmen, and proud sons of Kagiso.
FLY Boii (real name Solomon Mulungo, 25) and Bad Boy Mo (real name Oscar Mninimzi Maqwati, 32) met during the Club 54 Activation Show in Krugersdorp in 2021, marking the beginning of a strong musical fraternity. They have worked together on a number of hits over the years, such as Moya, Start From Scratch and Masibambaneni, which have ignited stages and solidified their connection as a duo.
FLY Boii is renowned for his catchy hip-hop sound, which combines touching lyrics with melody and emotional complexity. He has expanded his influence beyond music by working with well-known companies and brands, such as the creator of Visualise Greatness Marketing Agency. He won the 2021 Mogale Music Awards’ Best Hip Hop Artist title. On the other hand, Bad Boy Mo contributes an unapologetic lyrical style and an extremely skilled pen game. He founded Not2Bad Clothing and is a true wordsmith who has left his imprint in both music and fashion. He is a nine-time Rap Factor Champion and was named Artist of the Year at the Ghana Premium Awards in 2024.
Earlier this year, they started their own independent label, West Records, an environment for different creatives, both male and female. The pair formally made things official. With each artist releasing a solo song prior to their collaborative project, the label is already creating excitement.

Since its release on July 11, their most recent single, Njabulo, has become popular on TikTok and sparked a dance competition that has spread as far as Denmark. The song is a celebration of joy and manifesting a better life, produced by Casmo Marsiano, a South African Music Award-winning producer who has collaborated with industry icons like Big Zulu, Emtee, Bongo Riot, Zola 7, and Zakwe. Its upbeat message and catchy rhythm have gained popularity both domestically and abroad, receiving broadcast time on radio stations such as YFM.
FLY Boii explained how he thinks his music can be used as a tool for social change or community empowerment.
“My pen game is deeply rooted in reality. I rap about what I’ve seen, lived, and survived. Someone who might be too afraid to speak up. That’s why I call my movement the streets gospel,” he said.
He outlined some artists or mentors that have inspired him, and how they have influenced his work.
“Artists like Burna Boy, Rod Wave, Riky Rick, and Drake inspire me. I admire how they carry the culture with grace, stay focused on the music, and rise above the noise and drama. That’s the kind of legacy I’m working towards,” he said.
He concluded by giving advice to young artists who want to use their or your platform for a good cause.
“I believe in showing up as your true self every day, especially when no one is watching. But when you’re truly living your purpose, everything starts to align naturally.”
Together with a surprise summer single from their upcoming EP, which is scheduled for release in early 2026, the pair is currently getting ready to unveil the music video for Njabulo.
Bad Boyz Fly is more than just music; it’s a movement that was created in the streets, driven by brotherhood, and destined for greatness because of its strong foundation, viral momentum, and committed fan base.
