19-vehicle crash chaos sees miracle escape for Toolbox Hub employee
The man was travelling in an e-hailing cab when the crash occurred.
One of the people injured in this morning’s, August 28, major crash in the Diswilmar area has been confirmed as an employee of the Toolbox Empowerment Hub, an initiative of The Bethany House Trust (BHT).
The employee was travelling in one of the 19 vehicles involved in the crash, which ended up on its roof.

According to the hub’s project manager, Andrew Holdsworth, the man was a passenger in an e-hailing cab and sustained a head injury and scratches. He was transported to the hospital for treatment and is very shaken. The cab driver also sustained a back injury and remains in the hospital.

The crash caused severe traffic disruptions near Cradlestone Mall for motorists travelling between Krugersdorp and Roodepoort.

Mogale Response Services spokesperson Dale Mac Rae has since confirmed that Hendrik Potgieter Road has been partially reopened to traffic.
