Reward offered after elderly woman’s Pekingese Benji stolen in Krugersdorp

The 9th Day Animal Rescue Centre is asking for help after Benji, a rescue dog and support companion, was stolen. He needs medication to survive –can you help find him?

An elderly woman’s Pekingese, Benji, was stolen along with her car, and the 9th Day Animal Rescue Centre in Krugersdorp is appealing for help to find him.

Benji, who is eight years old, is a rescue dog adopted about eight months ago through another rescue centre. According to Charmaine Pieterse, founder of 9th Day, he is more than just a pet.

“He is not just a dog – he is his elderly owner’s best friend, her comfort, her emotional support. She is struggling with health challenges of her own. Benji is also prescribed monthly medication, and his life is in great danger without it,” Pieterse said.

She pleaded with anyone who has seen Benji to return him to his rightful owner, who is suffering deeply without him.

“If you have any information, no matter how small, please reach out – all information will be kept completely confidential. You can also take Benji directly to Rant-en-Dal Animal Hospital – no questions asked,” she added.

A large reward has been offered for his safe return. Anyone with information on Benji’s whereabouts can contact Charmaine on 060 406 5263.
