Firefighters of Team N’zuri defend national title in style

Team N’zuri has once again proven its strength, claiming top honours as national champions at the Toughest Firefighter Alive competition.

Team N’zuri proved their toughness recently after they competed at the National Toughest Firefighter Alive competition in George.

This competition was held between October 9 and 11, and their coach, Manie Gouws, revealed that both the men and women were crowned as the national champions overall for the relay competition.

The team members also had success with the individual competitions for their respective age categories:

• Ontiretse Pule – first place
• Maithamako Moswete – first place
• Andronica Nomfanelo – first place
• Thato Molefe – first place
• Vincent Naudé – second place
• Manie Gouws – first place
• Dawie de Villiers – third place

“We are blessed to be the national champions once again, and we would love to send our team to the World Firefighters Games in Saudi Arabia in November next year to represent South Africa,” he concluded.
