Krugersdorp celebrates Portuguese food, music and tradition
Krugersdorp Festa delighted over 3 000 visitors with Portuguese food, music, and culture while raising funds for local community projects.
The Krugersdorp Festa, held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, returned spectacularly this year.
Being one of the most anticipated festivals on Krugersdorp’s calendar, there was a variety for attendees to enjoy, from food and cultural activities to music.

According to Festa committee member Grace Caldera, more than 3 000 people attend each year to celebrate and support a cause close to their hearts, raising funds for the church and community projects.

She said the moment guests walk through the gates, they are met with the vibrant streets of Madeira, thanks to the stunning décor that captures the spirit of this cherished island.

“Festa-goers got to indulge in Portuguese cuisine and music, with performances from artists such as a memorable set by Miro Freitas, who flew in from Madeira, making the day even more special. Local sensations Max Moore and Tanya V also lit up the stage with their energy, while Fatima Nery’s soulful voice touched the crowd.”

Grace concluded that, “The Krugersdorp Festa once again proved to be a vibrant celebration of Portuguese culture, bringing the community together through delicious cuisine, captivating music, and festive activities, while supporting meaningful local causes.”
