G20 Summit: Road closures expected around Muldersdrift

Temporary road closures and brief delays expected in Muldersdrift as G20 delegates arrive and move through the area from Friday.

Residents of Mogale City are being advised that numerous G20 delegates will be arriving in South Africa via Lanseria Airport from today, November 21 and over the coming days.

Several delegates will be accommodated in the Muldersdrift area.

To ensure secure convoy movements, temporary road closures will take place, with Beyers Naudé Drive being the most affected, along with Hendrik Potgieter and Furrow Road.

Councillor Gwen Britz noted that closures will be announced at short notice for security reasons. Motorists can expect only brief delays while convoys pass.

Although Krugersdorp is not directly affected, residents are advised to be aware that high-security operations will impact urban hotspots, including Sandton, Rosebank, Melrose Arch, Fourways, Roodepoort, and Nasrec, as well as the N14 Pretoria-Krugersdorp route, a key G20 movement corridor.
