Mogale City mayor helps spread festive cheer

Thousands of children in Kagiso received toys and festive cheer thanks to Mogale City and the Motsepe Foundation.

Laughter, music and joy filled the air as young people received smiles and festive cheer during Mogale City’s Christmas With Our People toy distribution drive, held in partnership with the Motsepe Foundation.

According to Mogale City Executive Mayor Lucky Sele, over 3 000 toys were distributed across Kagiso, bringing happiness to children from all corners of the township.

“From heartfelt community visits to moments of shared joy, Mogale City and the Motsepe Foundation collaboration reminds us that every child deserves a reason to smile this Christmas, and that together, we can build a city of hope and unity that lasts far beyond the festive season,” Sele said.

The foundation, according to its official website, conducts annual toy distributions to disadvantaged children across South Africa, often partnering with local municipalities. The initiative aims to bring festive cheer to children who might not otherwise receive gifts and forms part of the foundation’s broader social cohesion programs.
