Krugersdorp Rotary Club hosts fun bingo night for charity
The Krugersdorp Rotary Club brings the community together for a night of bingo, food and fundraising for local charities.
The Krugersdorp Rotary Club held its annual bingo night at the Krugersdorp Golf Club on November 29, providing a fun and exciting way to raise funds.
The club, which has been active for over 70 years, recently introduced new leaders to spearhead initiatives aimed at achieving its charity goals and improving the local community.
According to club president Dennis Pretorius, the evening was filled with fun and games for both Rotarians and residents from across Krugersdorp, who enjoyed the chance to support the cause while mingling and indulging in delicious food and drinks.
For those unfamiliar with the club, it undertakes various community projects in partnership with NGOs, including The Cradle of Hope, The Bethany House Trust, The Tower of Life, The Teddy Bear Clinic, the Krugersdorp Child Welfare Centre, and Glow 4 Jesus Community Church.
The club also runs the Rotary Interact programme, which recruits young people from schools such as Hoërskool Noordheuwel, Hoërskool Monument and Krugersdorp High School.
“The Interact Club is a service club for youth aged 12 to 18, sponsored by a local Rotary club. It develops leadership skills, promotes community and international understanding, and involves members in at least two service projects each year – one for their local community and one with an international focus – while helping them build connections and learn about new cultures,” Dennis concluded.
